Sentinel = "Sentry, Guard, Watch, Lookout"
*THE SIX FUNDAMENTALS*
First and foremost, Sentinel exists to promote fun. MW4 should be enjoyable by all in unit, and all pilots should work to enhance the fun for others. We will never put winning over our #1 asset - our members.
Secondly, Sentinel will always play with integrity. No hacks or cheats, even exploits, will be used.
Thirdly, Sentinel is a Brawling unit. That is not to say that individuals will never attack from range. However, in MWL matches we will, as a team, get in their face, so to speak.
Fourth, Sentinel plays in open servers. If you only play MWL and not opens this is not the unit for you. There are MW4 units where players come out of the woodwork for MWL matches, but are MIA in opens. This will never be the case for Sentinel. If a pilot has not played in any opens during the week (and jumped on comms), that pilot will be benched during MWL matches for the same week.
Fifth, Sentinel pilots are confident yet humble so no trash talking. We can have each other's backs without name-calling. This includes opens, matches, and battle comms.
Sixth, all members are equal, there is no chain-of-command. Obviously, the Founder has access to certain admin functions as is necessary. There may be positions available later on for members to take more responsibility but these would only address a need and would have no authority over other members. For MWL matches there will be no preferences in selecting players for matches. It will be first come first serve to whomever replies to the current matches thread on our forums.
In addition:
-We plan on starting out with only 2 ladders: Brawler and 3v3 Team Battle. We may expand depending on the wishes of the pilots, however, there is almost no chance we will join a Destruction ladder, but never say never.
-Members can choose the mechs they want to take in opens and MWL matches. No one will choose a mech for you to pilot (this include weapon load-outs and electronics). Suggestions can be made if asked.
-For MWL matches, mechs will be chosen by each pilot participating BEFORE ever joining the server. As much as it depends on us, ready up for ping-test immediately, and then click in. Drop zones should also be chosen BEFOREHAND. If the drop zone hasn't been chosen, quickly work together to pick one randomly. I would rather us pick a bad drop zone then waste time. Time is too precious for our members!
-No Mercs. If we don't have enough to field a match we forfeit. We learn to play together or not at all.
It's called responsibility. If one makes an appointment in the real world and doesn't show and doesn't call, there can be a penalty charged. If you don't show up for work and no call, your job could be in jeopardy.
To me, it's the same thing. We made a committment to show up at a certain time, with other players outside of our unit also making a committment. We failed to keep it - there should be consequences. In this case, forfeiting. That's how it is done in any other sport. If a college basketball team doesn't show up in the Final Four what happens? One team loses and the other goes to the Finals.
I am adamant about this...this is part of our dna.
-We stick to the rules in regards to time limits. If the opponent is not ready by the allotted time according to the rules, they will be forfeited. This may sound harsh, but if Sentinel is not ready I expect us to be forfeited with no animosity. I respect each and every member's time.
-We won't redrop for no kills.

Thanks Raptor and welcome aboard, matey
Remember, we need at least 8 committed to make the Welcome Match at MWL. Once I get 8 members posted here we'll start working on a date for the match that everyone can make. |

They shall be here. Do not worry my friend. Of course, with RL, it will take some of them a little while to get here, but they will be here.

Still brushing off a little rust.
I'm a mouse and keyboard pilot.
My Razer Diamondback finally broke, wore out a Ratzpad and CyberSnipa mouse pads, new Razer Copperhead I got Monday was DOA. New Thermaltake pad and Logitech mx518 that I won on Ebay will be here early next week. I'm using my old Razer Viper right now (and the CyberSnippa pad.)
I'm working nights right now but am free Fri. thru Sun. |

Thanks for the welcome Coolant, I hooked up with this outfit because I know the people here are genuine honest mech warrior pilots. I respect the integrity of you all and look forward to enjoying many great open matches with you. Just to note, SniperStrike and I will try to keep the ZME open server up and running at all times. Everyone is always welcome there and the lag is minimal. Once sniper gets a feel for people server Admin rights may be given as to provide accessability to setting maps and conditions so no one gets stuck in the server cycle rut. _________________

we have a couple members that are looking into setting up dedicated servers and I am looking forward to that. But, if you like, you can rename ur dedi Sentinel #1 or something similar. It's not required. _________________
