Rules as of 11/7/10:
Objective: Take control of all 4 worlds.
How it works:
You can use any points earned from the Ranking System to put toward Planetary. The maximum is 500 points per day. This draws from your total Rank Points and not from any you earn during the day you play Planetary. This poses a dilemma: do you earn points for your individual ranking or put all or some toward Planetary to buy Resources in order to attempt a takeover of the 4 planets in the system? The 5 Units are: Agriculture Command Centers Factory (Manufacture Mechs) Power Plants and Research. If you decide to buy a Resource you will need to type -planetary first, following by the Resource you are buying Units for and the # of units on the same line - disregard any message Katie may display. Buying Resources requires using the appropriate command.-agriculture-center-manufacture (factory)-power-researchYou buy Units of the Resource ;in a 1 to 1 ratio of Points to Units. For example, if you choose Factory, that converts into Mech production (number of Mechs built) equal to total # you have put toward that Unit in a 1 to 1 ratio. If you choose any of the other Resources besides Factory, you must maintain at least 20% of your total Factory score or suffer a 20% reduction in your Factory total per Resource when you add to Factory. So, for example, if both your Command and Agriculture drop below 20% of your Factory total you would suffer a -40% reduction in any amount added to Factory. If you add 100 to Factory (mechs) but 4 of the other Units are below 20% of your Factory total, you would just be adding 20 points (100 - (4x20) to your total Factory score. When your total # of Mechs (or Factory score, same thing) reaches 500 on a world, any future production in any Resource spills over onto the next planet so you can begin your conquest. You still are buying resources for the previous planet but your value of Units doubles now providing both planets (up to 4) with the same Resources. However, the same penalties apply for the new planet. The first planet to conquest is Halloran followed by Hesperus II then New Exford and finally Talon. For example, I have reached 500 points/mechs in Factory on Halloran and receive the +100 Streak Kill Ranking message. I choose to add the 100 toward planetary and choose the Research Resource. I now receive 100 added to Research on both Halloran and Hesperus II. If I were to reach 500 on Factory on Hesperus 2 I would spill over into New Exford and begin the conquest to control that planet. You do not have to maintain 500 Factory on any of the previous planets to spill over onto the next one, but in order to control a planet you must have the highest Factory total and to win Planetary you will need to have the highest Factory total on every planet. Planetary continues until this event.
Combat: When ALL 4 of your Auxillary Units (Command, Agriculture, Power Plants and Research) are at least 20% (note that I round up), your resources are stable and adequate enough to launch an attack. You automatically attack the player below you in Factory score the following day. You attack using all Resources versus their total Resources and subtract your opponent's Units from your own 1 for 1. For example, If I have 500 mech units (Factory score) and the opponent has 300, then I am left with 200 in Factory while the Opponent is wiped out. If the Opponent has 200 Power Plants and I only have 150 I am wiped out but the Opponent still has 50. Combat is the same for all worlds. _________________

You now attack the next player below you in-game at any time by typing -attack. The other player does not need to be present in game. This changes the rule of automatic attack. You can only attack a player immediately below you on the table. _________________

Hi G4, Abacus, Coelacanth and myself still play opens pretty regularly. Bumblebee makes an occasional appearance, and I've heard from Skorponok but haven't seen him play in awhile.

Planetary doesn't end with the Ranking Seasons but it does halt, picking up when another Ranking Season begins. Since it costs Rank Points to purchase Units it doesn't make sense to keep Planetary running during the Intercession.... _________________

Any Resource Units bestowed by some special event (like Christmas Theme) are not affected by the 20% rule. Only those points that are bought... _________________

Next Season ( , some pretty cool changes to Planetary that will involve the players into more strategy.
-attack now randomly (50% chance) selects a target immediately below OR ABOVE you
-attack now has a 50/50 chance that your troops will be DESPERATE which gives them 2 to 1 odds (you will have double the amount of Units to fight with and that carries over if you win). _________________

It works; I tested it one day, but you forgot. I did 3 or 4 -attacks, I believe, and came up with 'attack player above/below with 2x units' a few times, and 'attack player above' once before, and then again last night.
I will be using the -attack commanc once again as soon as I get in your server.
The Omni-Tyrant is hungry for planets...
