It makes it a lot better when players are less capable of accidentally killing their own teammates.

I would like to have specialized messages for the following:
1) Season 1 and 2 winner
2) Founder (of a TPL unit)
3) Leading Planetary
4) Leading Solaris
When you connect it will give the specialized message. However, your name cannot contain any special characters for it to recognize it. If you don't want the message let me know.

Very cool idea, I like it... except for the Season 1/2 winner... I don't like that... no... no... not at all 
Also, speaker class... you should specify what constitutes a full game... joining within 30 seconds of start should be sufficient to allow for delayed (lag) joins and waiting for bots to pick even teams. |

Type -level for Raider ONLY when you get a successful Raid, not immediately after you type it...
EDIT: NM, thats too hard to track...go ahead and just type it after you type -raider, ull still get credit. Made changes also...
Also, made changes on Raider. Please read. -scan now can only be typed after -raider and within 30 seconds, once per game/per player.

prolly should only use -chaotic when a player with an Occupation destroys you...otherwise its wasted cause players w/o Occupations dont get Rank Points

looks like you Chaotics are gonna start using all of your vendetta's this season so remember that if your vendetta fails from another player/bot kills your HUNTED that uses one of your 5x/day...

Remember that you can always go through the log urself (they are posted, click on logs button on Ranking Page) if you don't think something is right on the rankings. Several new/changed things for Season 3 and so I'm learning too...

I'm adding that a player gets 3 warnings (under the Penalty column) before any negative Rank Point Penalties are handed out for infractions...it will say Warning 1, Warning 2 etc.

Speakers, on the BA Bonus message, please verify whether they actually were the right tonnage to receive the bonus, so obviously if they are 80 tons and the requirement is 20 tons they shouldn't receive bonus and -buff shouldn't apply (or -level)
On -heal there should actually be a negative message to heal. Please don't type it just because a player suicides. Wait to see if they get the negative message then type -level.

Changed Salvage to those that join within 1 minute rather than 30 seconds to give Surveyors better Salvage. Also, if a player on the opposite team of Head of Salvage Ops gets the Lotto message (doesn't display tonnage) then they are worth 50 tons of Salvage (Rank Points).

Unless someone has objections I'm gonna ignore the 1 suicide and negative message that Wyrm got because he said he was having lag issues. It would've cost him 400 Salvage Points. Send me an email if you have an objection. Going forward, please be extra cautious on your heat...

There should be a way for players who don't have a lot of time online or play at odd hours to earn some Rank Points. Mechanics now earn 50 Rank Points for killing Wraith even if there are no players in the server. There is no limit. Wraith is very rare...

Remember that bets only count AFTER the betting message pops up. This usually only takes 1 second, but it IS possible to destroy a mech between when you type -bet and when the message pops up in chat (happened yesterday). This has been in the rules for a little while. This player is probably expecting this bet to register, so I'm allowing it, but this is the last time. Wait another second before you kill that mech!

The only Salvage targets available for Head of Salvage Ops is those that join the opposite team within 1 minute (makes it must faster for me to scan the log). Someone got Salvage Ops yesterday but there was only 1 other player that joined on time and the Head of Salvage Ops never destroyed that player.

Gonna consider making -buff only available to teammates and not the Speaker - this is prolly overpowered. However, I haven't changed it yet...what do you think?

Centurions have the cool Special Ability to halt Rank Points, but the only way they can earn their own Rank Points is to possibly (~33%) get the leadership bonus that is only 100. I'm changing this to 100x(-d6).

-level has become the hardest to track. I'm really gonna start sticking with spot-checking 3 per day, but woe to anyone that messes up lol. Will go straight to penalty with no warning. If you aren't sure when to type -level ask me!

Again, might as well NOT use -chaotic on a player that has no Occupation. You cannot level on a non-Occupational player. The tooltip over the pic has been updated to reflect this.

-vendetta is only effective after the HUNTED message appears. If a player suicides before the message appears the Chaotic does NOT receive the bonus (as happened yesterday).

I have now updated the About Rankings Page to include the following:
"Certain Occupations have Special Commands they type to activate. Rank Points are only awarded for actions that take place after the display message shows in chat. It usually only takes about a second after typing the command for the display message. However, it is certainly possible that events take place between when the command is typed and when the display message appears."

Personally, I'm not a big fan of this idea. Ranking messages are pretty rare to begin with. I'll go with the flow though.

Probably me at least once as well... I try to pay attention to what team folks are on, but it does get difficult. A lot of times it seems that you'll see something like this in chat:
>Omnicide(noob) RANKING +100 blahblah
>Metatron-X SUICIDED LOSE HIGHEST RANK SET
>Someone destroyed Someone
Omnicide(noob)> -d20
>1 CRITICAL FUMBLE
>LOSE SOMETHING SOMETHING
In this instance, assume that Omni is not on my team, but Meta is... all these messages pop up in about 3 seconds total. With a quick glance at the chat I might read it that Meta got the Ranking, so I -buff. I"ve got 10 seconds from the time of that first message to figure out the chat, make sure the player has an occupation, make sure the player is on my team, then type in the correct -buff/-heal message.
So far, I've been decent at catching these when I mess up and post in chat, but chances are you'll see some more of these from me. Not making excuses, just explaining why it happens and I'll understand if I get a penalty.

'Elite Noob,' so get it right BOB, you pesky little fruit-fly... 
My head is spinning with trying to kill my opponents AND watching for all the messages while trying to play Speaker... 
Sorry if a messed up on some of the ranking/planetary kill messages, Coolant. 
I'm gonna try a different occupation tomorrow, I think; maybe one that my single brain cell can wrap itself around.

You did really well with Politician the last two seasons, and bets have been going on the past two days. Especially with your limited play time, you can just jump on, -policitian 3 times, get 2 quick levels off some -bet10 losses and get back off. |

Yea, due to the one occupation per day limitation, I had to stick with Speaker for an entire day (Friday). But Saturday I'm switching back to Politician now that I have some gambling points to play with.
Politician is easier to use, and I can still focus on winning points for my team as well as earn rank points.
That's the only problem with Speaker, it's too busy of an occupation for me, especially since I usually miss the kill/streak messages a lot.

I'm going to try and start posting notes at the bottom of the ranking page - begins today...items that don't show up in the Ranking columns. This should give more insight into how useful (or not) the Occupations are that do things behind the scenes.

Lotto is being buffed. The closest # guessed during the day to the winning # is awarded the Lotto $$$. Also, I like the way Omnicide is doing the lotto. He is just typing the guessed # right after the -lotto, eg. -lotto 45. Please start doing it this way. I'll make a note to change the -lotto message.

someone tried -planetary on a BA tonnage Bonus message twice but they were much heavier than 20 tons so didn't count. You have to legitimately meet the criteria the ranking message if there is one.

I've made the Max Level for Speaker 15. Up or Down or keep at Max level? I thought it would be much harder for someone to go Death-less and it prolly is and the Speakers that are doing it are skilled, but is this overpowered?
