Just figured I'd drop in and introduce myself. Again.
The name's Corsair. I'm quite new to the game and still figuring out what I'm most comfortable in was far as 'mechs go. Right now I spend most of my time on the Sunder, Orion_IIC, and Cyclops, though I'm itching to try out a new Gladiator variant I put together.
My general preference is to stay behind the big guys (like Dire Wolves, Blood Asps, and Talos) while laying down medium range firesupport. At least, at the moment, anyway. _________________ "Si vis pacem, para bellum (If you wish for peace, prepare for war)"

If you're still trying to find mech variants that suit your playstyle, you could try Tailgunner's site.
If you like to hang back and shoot from cover, try a mech with ECM and maybe BAP and JJs. (Although, the only one that has all three is a Black Knight.) _________________ -----

Blood Asp can be a real sweet support mech. Give the following a try:
2x Heavy Large Laser
2x AC20 (Inner Sphere)
You can hang back at 400m and do really good damage. You'll see me pilot this mech a lot.
Another good mid-range Blood Asp:
4x Clan UAC5
6x ER Medium Lasers
Or this bad boy:
2x Clan Gauss
4x ER Large Laser
Want a medium range Atlas?
2x Plasma Cannon
1x Heavy Gauss
I love medium range combat, its probably my niche. If you want some more variants let me know. I can zip up a bunch of my favorites and email them to you... same applies to any of the Theme Park Crew, ask and ye shall receive. |

I'll go ahead and mess around with those variants. I've never used the Blood Asp before, thanks Bob.
Oh, and I have been pulling variants off of MVAN and trying them out. I did find myself having a ball with a couple of Rifleman variants last night (2 RAC + 2 ER PPC / 2 RAC5 + 2 LXPLS + 2 S C-Pod). _________________ "Si vis pacem, para bellum (If you wish for peace, prepare for war)"

Welcome to the fold, Corsair! Glad to see enthusiastic players joining Coolant's Theme Park League.
Be prepared to kick some major a$$, but be forewarned, behind Bob Ross' Happy Little Trees is where evil lurks...
